Before choosing the doors and windows material, we recommend to carefully consider their function There is not a material that is better than others. A window or a door that is frequently opened, like an hotel or a supermarket entrance, is differently realized than a house door or window.

The wood is the most traditional material, it is a pleasant choice and it gives warmth and pleasure to the touch.
Since this is a particularly delicate material, it is necessary to carry out the maintenance to protect it from fungus and natural time deterioration. Sun and weather are the main dangers for external frames. Another danger for wooden doors and windows is deformation: in order to avoid this risk it is advisable to use laminated wood.

The wood-aluminum window is a good choice because it is a compromise between tradition and innovation. Aluminum protects wood over time and reduces maintenance. The interior wood is perfect to make every room welcoming and refined, customizable to help creating the furniture style.

Aluminum windows and doors are light, they are resistant to corrosion, recyclable and environmentally friendly. The problem is that they are not completely thermally insulated even if they are made with thermal break profiles. For this reason, it is suitable for mild climate places.

The PVC window has a higher thermal insulation than aluminum and wooden windows. With the same thermal insulation performance it is certainly the window with the best quality / price ratio. If you choose PVC windows and doors, it means completely avoiding maintenance over time.

In the production phases, the environment respect is manifested by choosing to use filters for dust collection and in the choice of low environmental impact adhesives and paints. During the product life the thermal performance, and the consequent energy savings, are a concrete respect of the natural environment. The buildings energy certification reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the environment.

Fines3 also invests in the recycling activities during the operational phase (for example packaging materials).

At the end of their life the doors and windows are disassembled and we divide different materials: glass, steel, wood, PVC, aluminum. PVC parts are sent to a totally automatic system, where it is possible to extract material that can be used to produce new profiles. Aluminum is delivered to a specialized company that, after a series of operations, obtains a new material that can be reintroduced into production processes.
Fines3 windows are built to last. However, some precautions can help keep the features intact.

We recommend to:
- Clean the window using neutral detergents, clean the window once a month without using corrosive proucts and abrasive materials;
- Clean the gaskets twice a year with appropriate liquids that restore elasticity;
- Lubricate the hardware mechanisms twice a year with professional lubricants;
- Adjust the hardware if there is a malfunction (difficulty in closing or opening);
- Clean the glass with non-corrosive or abrasive products.
The aluminum surfaces are guaranteed for 5 years, the insulated glazing are guaranteed for 5 years and the white PVC windows surfaces are guaran-teed for 10 years. The finishes on wooden windows and doors (painting) can be guaranteed, on request, for 10 years and in this case we perform special painting and finishing cycles.
Generally, it is not necessary to do building works when you replace existing windows with new Fines3 windows. Sometimes (for example when the property is not inhabited) our technicians recommend to install special custom-made counterframes and in that case building works are often required, but they are not invasive.
Laminated wood is a material that has a load-bearing function and it is made by gluing wooden planks. It is a composite material made of selected natural wood. It reduces the solid wood flaws through a technological process and preserves the solid wood qualities like the high ratio between mechanical strength and weight. Laminated wood allows to produce elements with desired shape and size without the limits due to the size of the tree.

Despite being made of a combustible material, laminated wood has a fire resistance equal or greater than steel or reinforced concrete structures because the combustion occurs slowly: a very slow temperature increase corresponds with a negligible mechanical strength variation in non-carbonized wood fibers.
It is one of the most widely used plastic materials. When it is pure, it is a rigid material. Its versatility is due to the possibility of being mixed with other mixtures. It is considered safe in technological applications at room temperature, therefore in the construction of profiles for doors and windows too.

PVC is obtained from the polymerization of monomer vinyl chloride. The polymer is composed by 57% of chlorine, from cooking salt, and 43% by carbon and hydrogen, this mixture is combined with additives (Fines3 uses stabilizers without cadmium and lead) to give specific physical and mechanic characteristics.

It is important to highlight the contribution that the PVC supply chain is making to the following purposes:
- Obtaining products with high performance and affordable costs
- Greenhouse gas emissions reduction
- Use of the environment and health friendly substances
Insulating glass windows were initially introduced to reduce heat loss. It is also possible with Fines3 windows, if you choose the correct glass, to obtain good acoustic characteristics in addition to the high thermal insulation.

The broad principle is in the use of a very thick plate, associated to another plate that differ by al least 30% of thickness from the first one (examples of optimized compositions from the acoustic point of view can be a 4 + 6 mm or a 6 + 10 mm) so as to compensate the individual resonances (abolition of sympathetic resonances). The lamination of one of the two plates produce a further small improvement of the soundproofing performances, independently of glass that is stratified.

The double-glazing excellent thermal performance is achieved, certified and guaranteed by Fines3.
The double-glazing is an important surface of the window. Its constitution determines the window overall thermal insulation. The double-glazing is composed of two sheets of glass divided by a metallic groove containing a dehydrating substance and hermetically coupled by a double seal obtained by butyl.

The double-glazing is more and more often realized by 3 sheets of glass with the same composition seen above. The gas in the gap is very important because of its reduced thermal conductivity compared to glass and because the gas viscous forces prevent convective motions inside the double-glazing, in this way there is less energy transmitted outside.

Finally, the glass can be low-emissive or a film can be placed on a glass (not accessible when the glass is assembled) to improve the window thermal insulation performance, without substantially altering the light transmission.
